2009-present – Since relocating from London to Poole, I have been relishing the freedom and autonomy of working directly with a wide variety of clients, from Mercedez-Benz, England Golf, Callaway Golf, You Magazine and Bournemouth University, to smaller regional companies and private individuals.
2005-2009 – Discovery Network – I was lucky enough to be employed as a Promo Producer, primarily for Animal Planet & the lifestyle channels. Typically, each promo (trailer) package consisted of 60″, 30″ & 15″ versions, for which it was my role to come up with the creative concept, then write, edit, produce & direct the whole process, whilst liaising with the channel’s Creative Director. Each one was produced using original programme footage and would normally be turned around from start to finish in 5 days.
2001-2005 – During this time, I was freelancing on a broad range of productions, from commercials and music videos to whole TV series – initially as a runner, progressing to 3rd Asst Director and latterly as 1st Asst Director. Series included; Absolutely Fabulous (BBC); French & Saunders (BBC); Absolute Power (BBC); 15 Storeys High (BBC); My Life in Film (BBC); My New Best Friend (Channel 4); Hardware (ITV); Police Stories (BBC); Crowded Skies (BBC); The Murder Game (BBC). Commercials included; Pepsi; BT; Lucozade; Sainsbury’s; Playstation; Direct Line; Lego; Sky – Ford football sponsorship; Sky – Tim Lovejoy’s All Stars; BBC Talent. Music videos included; The Libertines; Maroon 5; Bryan Adams; Busted.
1999-2001 – Blue Plate Productions, New York – I spent 2 years working at this small production company, which proved to be a brilliant grounding for the years ahead. I started out as a runner, but was soon given the opportunity to learn to edit with Avid, and went on to Project Manage and even Co-Produce several productions. Projects included commercials, educational videos, and what must’ve been some of the world’s first ever webinars!
1996-1999 – Staffordshire University – BA Hons: Film, TV & Radio – Achieving a grade of 2:1
